Suzy was formerly a newspaper journalist for ten years as she loves to write and wanted to make use of her Bachelor Degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Liverpool. After having children, she decided it was time to pursue the other career she had always wanted to try – teaching! She completed a PGCE at Canterbury Christchurch University in Kent and has now been teaching primary school children for five years.
In her first year as an NQT, Suzy very successfully steered a Year 6 class through their SATs – the school received a letter from the Education Minister congratulating them on being in the top 2% of schools nationally for progress between Year 2 and Year 6 SATs for that year! Suzy loves teaching and learning with young people – they are a constant source of inspiration and fun. She spent time at schools in the UAE as a child and loved the experience of being in a new country and different culture – there is a big world out there and Suzy thinks it is important that we get to see and experience it. Given that, the opportunity of teaching at BISS Puxi was too good to miss and she couldn’t wait to relocate here with her family. The school community is so welcoming and she is delighted to now be a part of it.
Suzy is passionate about reading and literacy – it is a gateway to all kinds of worlds that we otherwise might never get to experience. Her family is the most important thing to her and Suzy's two children are enjoying life at BISS Puxi too. Suzy also loves being active, whether walking, running, swimming or cycling. In the past, she has run the London Marathon and completed the London Triathlon.
