During Key Stage 2 of our primary school curriculum, we encourage our students to be academically inquisitive and to continue to develop as independent learners, showing their initiative and leadership skills at NAIS Hong Kong.

KEY STAGE 2 CURRICULUM

Following the English National Curriculum, we encourage our Primary students at Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong to become independent and high-performing learners, taking pride in their studies and staying motivated.

Key Stage 2 spans Years 3, 4, 5, and 6. We support our students to reach their full potential through an individualised approach to their learning, while maintaining the high standards of the curriculum's key objectives.

Our students work in small groups with those of a similar ability, helping them to be supported or challenged as appropriate to their ability and pace of growth.

KEY STAGE 2 LEARNING

Following best practice of the English National Curriculum, we teach science; history; geography; art; design; technology; personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE); information and communication technologies (ICT); music; and physical education (PE). We use a topic-based approach, we integrate child-centred activities into the lessons.

Our teachers make the topics and themes broad and balanced, helping to create continuity and progression across the years. Teaching through inspiring topics allows us to encourage an inquiry-based approach within the curriculum, and we encourage our students to become independent and to take ownership of their progress.

We shape a learning environment where our students are pushed to extend and challenge their learning, to analyse and reflect, to take risks, and to develop their intellectual confidence. All our children achieve at a high level. We plan learning and development around their individual needs and interests, using modern assessment methods.

LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

At Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, we provide many opportunities for our children to learn beyond the classroom and to develop new skills through participation in productions, educational day visits, residential trips, themed days, and extracurricular activities.

Through our lessons and activities, all children build their social confidence; become self-reliant and self-disciplined; and form positive relationships with students and adults. We also help them to become globally aware and to understand the responsibilities of being in a community.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT

Key Stage 2 prepares and supports our students for the smoothest transition into Year 7 of Lower Secondary School and beyond. Our students leave their Primary years as highly engaged and self-motivated learners, well-equipped with the knowledge, skills, and the learning tools to achieve their goals and to grow as confident global learners.
