The last 24 hours have been wonderful for me. Yesterday evening, I attended our first ever IBDP showcase evening. Thank you to Mr Duckett, our IBDP Coordinator, for organising the event with the help of the students. Extraordinary is the only way to describe the development of our Year 13 IBDP students over the last two years. When we reflect on their earliest efforts to present and think in two or more languages, there is no comparison, to the confident, articulate thinkers who have emerged in recent weeks. They have made us all very proud.

This morning, I visited the Primary section and saw the work of the students who will be joining the secondary section in the near future. I was really impressed by some beautiful charcoal drawings, a fabulous class song about rivers and a stunning shadow puppet show. It excites me to stare into the future and imagine the quality of work those children will be capable of, when, after another 5 years of learning,  they eventually join our sixth form and begin the IBDP.

Revision, Revision, Revision

Good luck to our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they complete their final classes and begin their ultimate revision sessions. For some timely, advice, I recommend parents and students read Mrs Witton’s excellent hub piece on revision.

Welcome Back Year 8

The Year 8 students returned from their annual residential, this afternoon. The trip to Cat Ba was originally cancelled in October due to extreme weather and we are delighted that the children have been able to enjoy a fabulous learning experience, at long last.

Year 11 Art Students Complete their IGCSE Exam Piece

Congratulations to our Year 11 IGCSE art students, whose exam finished today. The students completed their final piece under exam conditions and now look forward to focusing on the remainder of their subjects. The next Year 11 exams are on the 17 and 19 April during the school holidays, when the ICT exams will be held. Students should see Mr Toner, Head of IT and Computer Science, for guidance on how to prepare for these practicals.
