Our students are going to represent BIS Hanoi at Nord Anglia’s first-ever regional STEAM Festival, hosted by Northbridge International School (Phnom Penh).

On October 3, fifteen BIS Hanoi students set off to Cambodia. They arrived in the afternoon and relaxed at the hotel. Some were resting and some were swimming. They went for dinner at 6 pm.

Day 1 (October 4): An excellent first day at the STEAM festival

Students started the day by participating in an MIT puzzle hunt followed by a series of STEAM workshops. In the afternoon they worked in groups to solve the first MIT CHALLENGE (Epic Identity) and demonstrated their creativity and problem solving by applying some animal superpowers to real-world problems and creating some imaginative designs and wearable technologies.

Day 2 (October 5): Today students presented their superheroes

It was a fantastic opportunity for them to demonstrate their creativity, collaborative skills, and hard work! Our students had truly demonstrated critical thinking and high-level problem-solving by applying what they had learned over the last couple of days to develop superheroes which use a variety of "powers" using the STEAM principles. From super-vision inspired by the Mantis Shrimp to Programmable warning systems inspired by turtles, our students have displayed such ingenuity in all of their creations.

About the event

Over 100 students from Year 6 - 9 from 10 Nord Anglia schools across the Southeast Asia region will be participating in this event.

The Nord Anglia STEAM festival is a chance to develop and celebrate our skills across the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths, and also demonstrate creative and innovative ways of solving real-world problems.
