The British School of Guangzhou is delighted to share our outstanding A Level and AS results for 2023.

Following A Level examinations 53% of students achieved A* - A and 74% A* - B.  These exceptional results are even more extraordinary in the context of significant grade reductions in the UK.  BSG achieved 53% A* - A compared to the UK at 27%.

Congratulations to our standout students, accepted into the world’s top universities!

2023 BSG graduates, Alisha, Angela and Daniel, who had received offers from University of Cambridge, have now secured acceptance and will set off for London in September.

A number of other BSG graduates will be attending leading universities in UK, including University College London, Imperial College London, Universities of Manchester, Bristol and Essex.

The A level is a globally recognized academic qualification and our graduates’ exceptional A level results have also secured international placements in USA and Canada, Hong Kong, UAE, Germany and The Netherlands. In the USA, BSG graduates will attend Georgetown, Fullerton, and Nevada and in Hong Kong, our students have secured places at Hong Kong University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Kerry Millar – Head of Secondary said, “As a school we could not be prouder of our students’ achievements, their excellence and endeavour shines brightly. The Class of 2023 will make a huge positive impact as they create their future and will become great leaders in years to come.  Congratulations.  Always remember, BSG is your home, and you are an inspiration to those who now follow in your footsteps”.

Additionally, our AS students who returned to school on Monday for their final year, set themselves phenomenal foundations as they achieved A* - A 67%, A* - B 83% and 100% pass rate. Truly remarkable results, again in the context of 100,000 reduced grades this year.

We have so much of which to be proud, and huge credit must also be bestowed on the teaching staff who have delivered outstanding teaching to our outstanding students to ensure academic rigour throughout.
