Our Pathway 3 programmes offer more intensive support and resources delivered by highly trained Special Educational Needs staff. The ratio of adults to students is increased and the class size is reduced to 8 students per class. Our Pathway 3 classes are located centrally within the school to enable access to a wide range of support services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, as well as our educational psychologist. In addition to any individual support our Speech and Language therapists deliver whole class sessions to promote communication and use of language.

Pathway 3 is designed to support individual progress through the development of 5 key areas: Communication, Independence, Emotional wellbeing, Core functional skills and Physical wellbeing. Integration and twinning play an important part of the school day and each Pathway 3 class is twinned with a mainstream class to allow for all students to share learning experiences, build relationships and to foster a truly inclusive environment.

Life skills play a significant role throughout both the Primary and Secondary school and are embedded in all activities during the school day. In the Secondary school this is also taught in specific lessons and through recognised and accredited courses, such as ASDAN, to provide further opportunities to develop independence both in class and outside of school.
