While we are all very fortunate to be living in a country like Thailand, with such a wonderful national cuisine, there are just those times when “a taste of home” is all that will do to satisfy our cravings.

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it is a good place to start to help you find what it is you’re after. Did I miss your favourites? What would you add as your must haves/places to shop?

Villa Market - The Avenue Pattaya

Moo 10, 2nd Road, Pattaya, Bang Lamung, Central Pattaya, Pattaya, 20150

Villa supermarket is a great place for American groceries, Australian biscuits, baking

goods and western cleaning supplies.

Central (TOPS) Supermarket

Located on the ground floor of Central Festival Shopping Mall

Central is host to many British, Australian and US brands and carries many Waitrose products from the UK. The quality of their fruit and veg is very good. Be aware that they don’t open until 11.00am.

Foodland

190/16 Pattaya Klang Rd, open 24hours

Again, lots of products from all over the globe. I especially like their range of beef and lamb from Australia and New Zealand. Good range of deli meats too. It also seems to be the place where you can still buy a bottle of wine for dinner during the 2-5pm timeframe!

Big C Extra

333 Moo 9 Pattaya Klang Rd.

After a long time away from Big C Extra I’ve gone back and I’m pleased that I have. While the range of groceries is still a little limited the fresh fruit and veg, meat and seafood selection is great. They also stock the “Casino” brand, which are great European deli supplies: cheeses, hams, creams, yoghurts etc. I love the fresh bread/bakery section there too.

Friendship Supermarket

20/390 Moo 10, South Pattaya Rd.

Friendship Supermarket, over two stories, offers a range of good quality Western products and Chinese food. The products available include pasties, bread, meat, bread, stationary, cookware as well as a good selection of wine. Upstairs they also get in seasonal/holiday decorations, great for Christmas!
