Here’s one for the books. After achieving the highest scores at our inaugural Middle School History Fair in February, 14 Bulldogs showcased their winning projects at the Chicago Metro History Fair on April 9. On top of that, two students qualified for the state competition on May 5!

Each year, approximately 7,000 Chicago students compete in history fairs at their schools, and just 400 move on to participate in the Chicago Metro History Fair. Well done to the Bulldogs below! Samuel and Christopher in Year 7 qualified for the state competition, which makes this the second consecutive year the Bulldogs are competing.

  • Year 7: Samuel and Christopher
  • Year 8: Fay Ling, Bella, Aysu and Lauryn
  • Year 9: Aoife, Alicia, Anna and Haley
  • 2015 State Finalist Entry: Breandan, Pablo, Jason and Samuel (Year 9)

This year’s Chicago Metro History Fair, held at Lane Tech High School, followed the National History Day theme, "Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in History". Our students’ projects featured the colorful stories of Chicago skyscrapers, transport, migration and the Mercantile Exchange.

We can't wait to see how Samuel and Christopher fare in May!
