Information Technology

Information Communication Technology (ICT) classes are part of the curriculum for children from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8. Instruction emphasizes acquiring and developing skills from keyboarding in the early grades to research, word processing, and more advanced software skills for older children.

The ICT Lab uses state-of-the-art equipment and software to develop and challenge children’s computer skills.

Early grades play entertaining educational games that teach basic keyboarding. Older children undertake supervised projects that integrate skills across subjects. Classes also teach students how to use a range of information resources available on the Web.

For example, smaller children may learn to make charts and graphs by creating word puzzles, while older children may hone the same skill by performing research on a topic and then arranging the information in charts and graphs. Older children have also created books, pamphlets, and movies for class projects.
