Continued learning for our staff

As teachers we all truly believe in life-long learning and modelling this to children, and Continued Professional Deveopment (CPD) for our staff is a key aspect of our aim to be the leading british international school in Thailand and further afield. 

Recently, Regents International School Pattaya invited Andy Philips of AP Associates, a UK-based educational professional development provider and facilitator, to lead thought-provoking and highly inspirational training for our Primary Heads of Year/Departments and Subject Coordinators on the theme of ‘Developing Strategic Leadership…Achieving Sustained Improvement.’

One of our teachers commented: ‘My class thought it was wonderful when I told them I would be learning in school over the weekend! This was one of the most interesting CPD programmes I have attended, I particularly enjoyed the role-play sessions and the tool-kit of ideas I took away from the training to implement in my year group the moment I got back into school on Monday morning.’

We are able to offer this valuable professional development opportunity not only to our own staff, but also to staff from neighbouring international schools who joined us for the weekend of learning. This not only added to the depth and range of experiences, thoughts and opinions on offer but also strengthened relationships with our closest teaching colleagues.

Attending staff are now looking forward to implementing their newly aquired knowled in how they lead their own section of our school and measuring the impact that this will have on teacher effectiveness and therefore student learning.
