We are delighted to announce another excellent set of GCSE and iGCSE results for our DCIS students

We are delighted to announce another excellent set of GCSE and iGCSE results for our Year 11 students. We would like to congratulate our students and thank their families and our school staff for their support.

External examinations are one of the performance indicators that we use and we are very pleased that the results have enabled our students to move on to the next step in their education. For some of our students, we are delighted that they have stayed at DCIS to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Some of the highlights of our iGCSE results are listed below:

English Language 89%  A*- C
  67%  A*, A and B
Mathematics 86% A*- C
Single Award Science 100%  A*- B
French 100% A and A*
History 100% A* - C
Drama 88%  A* - C

We also had some amazing individual results, including one of our new IBDP students who achieved 5A*s, 3As and a B.

Internationally respected, the General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE) and International General Certificates of Secondary Education (iGCSE) are some of the most academically challenging courses currently on offer to 14 - 16 year old students worldwide. Students will generally take ten courses and upon passing, are awarded qualifications in a full range of core subjects including languages, sciences, humanities, social sciences, arts and design and mathematics.

Top universities around the world look to these qualifications as an extra benchmark of performance when considering applications. The iGCSE and GCSE courses also lend themselves extremely well as preparation for the IB Diploma Programme that was launched at DCIS in August. Many of our students will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in their IB studies so that they are fully prepared to transition into their university studies.

We would also like to congratulate our teachers for another outstanding year. Your commitment to our students and school are evident in these high-reaching academic results. On behalf of the parents and school, we would like to extend our thanks for always challenging our students to achieve beyond their expectations.

Finally, we would like to thank the parents who have supported and encouraged the students throughout their journey at DCIS. We wish all of our students continued success with their ongoing studies.
