FOBISIA Primary Games Jakarta 2015

This year’s FOBISIA games were hosted by British School Jakarta in Indonesia. There was a slightly smaller pool of schools with 5 in attendance overall.

BIS finished 2nd overall in swimming (missing out on gold by 2 points!) and 3rd overall in athletics which again was very close.

Day two saw the football competitions taking place, where pupils competed within gender and age groups with six BIS teams taking to the pitch. Four of the six teams finished on the podium with the year 6 girls undefeated in all games.

On days three, boys and girls competed together in year groups for the t-ball competition. All three teams finished on the podium with U9 in 2nd place, U10 in 3rd place and U11 in 1st place.

Outside of sports, all participants enjoyed team socialising, fun activities and some hilarious bus journeys in the notorious Jakarta traffic. The host school singled us out for our pupil’s exemplary behaviour and good sportsmanship which was lovely.

All coaches were very proud of individual and team performances of which there are too many to mention individually. I need to thank all travelling supporters and also coaches for their hard work and commitment to training. Please take time to let your own achievements sink in!
