BIS 1 - 2 SSIS
The second game of the Volleyball season was against SSIS, the reigning champions of last year. We entered the match as the underdogs, with the odds stacked against us as we quested for our first set victory of the year. After nerves got the best of us in the first set leading to a 10-25 defeat, the BIS boys valiantly fought back to secure a nail-biting 28-26 victory that was inspired by the home crowd motivation. Unfortunately, several key errors led to a narrow 14-16 loss in the third and final set.
Noticeable performers included several vital blocks from Thomas and accurate serving from Floris. The BIS team have been training intensively to prepare themselves for the upcoming game against ISHMIC (Home Thur 6 Oct).

BIS 0 – 2 SSIS
The team were excited for their next challenge after performing so well against TIS last week. After watching a very close game between the boys the girls were eager to prove themselves against SSIS. Unfortunately the occasion seemed to get the better of the team and nerves set in, preventing them from showing the same control and tactical ability they had shown previously. It was very clear the girls wanted to do the best they could and fought very hard to the end of the second set. The girls have reflected on their performance and are excited to be able to play again on Thursday and show again what they are capable of.
BIS 1 – 2 SSIS
Due to an excellent turn out to the U19 volleyball trials it was decided that we could form the first U19b team for the first time in BIS history. Their first match of the season was away at SSIS and the girls were very excited to be playing in the match. The team haven’t had much time to work together so it was a great opportunity to start to identify roles and tactics. BIS went two sets down, both but sets were exceptionally close and competitive. BIS wanted one more set to show their potential and with a quick change in tactics the team showed superb perseverance to go on and win the final set. The team demonstrated excellent ability in the match and will continue to build from this experience.
