Save the dates
We have two special gatherings coming up. One is a farewell as four of us are about to leave Vietnam and it will be time to say goodbye and wish them a happy journey. The date will be confirmed next week in the TX WhatsApp parent group, but please keep May 12th or 13th as options.
The second one will be the opportunity to know more about Vietnam on Tuesday, May 17th, 8 to 10am in the Multipurpose Room. Our Vietnamese parents are preparing a fantastic morning . You’ll be able to practise the language, discover more about the country, learn how to make Banh Chuoi Hap and traditional Vietnamese coffee. Dress code: Ao Dai!!!
If you are staying in Saigon this weekend, don’t miss the fireworks. They will be set off in four venues to celebrate the 41st anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification (April 30th). The shows are scheduled at 9-9:30pm on April 30th at the roof of Saigon river tunnel in district 2, Dam Sen cultural park in district 11 and Cu Chi and Can Gio districts. You can enjoy the show from many rooftops in the city and avoid the busy streets.
As part of the celebrations, a photo exhibition has been open since April 25th along Nguyen Hue and Dong Khoi streets and Labour Culture Palace in District 1.

If you want to escape the city, you might try the Grand Ho Tram Strip, a resort located 2 hours drive outside HCMC. For 4 days, they have re-created Lewis Caroll’s wonderland into a "cosplay" (be ready to meet the Cheshire cat or the Queen of Hearts), beach activities, face painting, treasure hunt, live performance, life size games etc…are all on the program. The Factory (contemporary arts center) opened last March. Exhibitions and workshops are what you’ll find at the centre. Don’t miss "Technophone" (until May 5th), which showcases the work of a group of Saigon based artists who employed a diverse range of technology-based media, from 3D printed sculptures and video holograms, to audience-activated sound installations, smartphone apps, motion sensing video, animation and more. http://factoryartscentre.com/event/technophobe/
On May 1st they have an art and craft class for kids. On May 8th, they also have a workshop for adults.

May 12, 13 and 14th : the Saigon Players pay a tribute to Shakespeare in commemoration of his 400th death anniversary. A 90 mn performance to (re) discover the complete work of Shakespeare. Show info on their website : http://www.saigonplayers.com

On May 30th, "The Dances", a Piano recital with performances from Mr. Nguyen Tuan Manh, SOUL Music & Performing Arts Academy Teachers and Students will be held at SOUL Live Project - 214 Pasteur, Hồ Chí Minh, Hồ Chí Minh. from 6.30 to 8pm
