On Wednesday 11th May BIS were part of a football tournament called SISAC U11 Girls City Championships. 25 of our students from Yr4,5,6 were selected and put into three teams;
BIS A, BIS B and BIS C teams.
There was so much fantastic football; it was a pleasure to watch. From the midfielders and strikers assisting and scoring goals, to the defenders battling non-stop to prevent the ball from getting past them and to the goal keepers for making some brave saves, you should all be very proud of your efforts.
BIS B team reached the 3rd and 4th play-off final, playing for third place. The game was gripping with a few attempts at goal from both sides, however no goals were scored, resulting in a 0-0 score … meaning PENALTIES.
Well done to Angel, Anna Sofia, Caroline for showing courage and taking the penalties and to Linh the goal keeper for saving two out of three shots. The pressure you were under was immense!
Due to the entire team performing so well and to these girls scoring two penalties and Linh saving two, BIS B team beat SSIS and came 3rd overall. Congratulations to BIS Team B (Yee Chien, Angel, Caroline, Marina, Anna Sofia, Linh, Cindy, Lenisha, Michelle).
BIS A Team finished at the top of the table after their 5 games so they faced ISHCMC in the final.
Result at full time was 0-0 meaning PENALTIES for these teams as well!
Well done to Luxe the goal keeper for saving one penalty and showing such bravery and to Malena, Hannah W and Halima for stepping up and performing under pressure!
ISHCMC managed to score one more penalty than us which made them the champions and BIS A team the runners up (2nd place overall).
Congratulations to the whole BIS A Team (Halima, Hannah W, Hope, Luxe, Malena, Man Nghi, Minami, Hannah D).
Saragh, Brooke, Bella, Ainsley, Quyen, Zara and Calysta; with Sarah G chief supporter (due to her injured arm) travelled to Thao Dien Sports complex.
The first match against EIS was close in the first half but we managed to secure the win with a 2-0 lead. With only a 3 minute rest we were up against BVIS, we felt very hot and tired. Luckily it clouded over and there was a breeze, this seemed to give us the boost we needed. We won the match 3-0. This meant we met EIS in the final, we knew we needed to play our best. We controlled the game from the start and our passing was spot on! EIS couldn't handle us. The game finished 2-0 to us. SISAC CHAMPIONS!
Well done to all three teams involved!
