I am sure you will join with me in extending Mr Rowlands a very warm BIS welcome as he begins his own journey of exploration to discover what makes BIS such a special school community to be a part of.

New Student Centre
BIS’ reputation for outstanding academic outcomes is a result of engaging and exciting learning opportunities coupled with welfare and guidance that form a holistic education.
By putting the child of the centre of all we do, we seek to ensure each and every student receives the practical support that enables them to embrace all areas of school life, and navigate the busy life that comes with being a BIS student.
This philosophy leads us to continually seek to find ways in which we can make small differences to enhance the student experience at BIS.
This summer has seen one such development with the arrival of our new Student Centre.
The new Student Centre houses our Welfare & Guidance Team supported by our Welfare & Guidance Administrator & Education Secretary.
This well trained and experienced team are there to ensure student needs no matter how big or small are met.
From practical matters like lost property to more challenging pastoral issues, the arrival of our Student Centre means students now have one, permanently staffed hub on campus to go to get dedicated support with all aspects of school life.
As well as improving student facilities, our Welfare and Guidance Team will be providing increased learning opportunities for our students to develop the knowledge, skills and habits to support their own wellbeing and that of the school community.
Look out for updates throughout the year on this important part of our work at the AP2 campus.
New Campus Reception
As the new Student Centre is now our hub for all student enquiries and needs we are also very excited to open our new look Reception where parents and visitors will be met by our welcome team, Katie and Huong, who will offer their help and support with any enquiries that you may have. Our reception continues to be your main point of contact with the campus on arrival and in order to maintain the safety of our students and provide you with the best service can I ask that you make your way directly to reception when visiting.
Look out for more articles in the near future where I will tell you more about changes we have made to the campus facilities in order to improve our students’ experiences.
Congratulations to students on their outstanding IB and IGCSE results
We begin 2017-18 in celebration of outstanding IGCSE and IB results once again. Along with the families of our Year 13 Graduating Class of 2017 and our Year 11 IGCSE students we are so proud of their achievements. Their success has already opened up so many opportunities for their futures both here and overseas. We wish our Year 13 graduates farewell with our very best wishes as they move on to study at universities across the globe and remind them all to keep in contact with us now as BIS Alumni. We also look forward to welcoming back the largest ever number of our Year 11 as IB students into the Sixth Form to continue their own BIS success story. Read more...
Sixth Form Induction
The Year 12 induction day was a wonderful opportunity for the students beginning their IB studies at BIS HCMC to bond with their peers and develop their understanding of the Diploma Programme. The students were put through their paces with a treasure hunt to find important places on the AP2 campus, as well as engaging in time management and team-building activities. The day was a great chance for the new students to meet their new Sixth Form tutors and other important people on the Sixth Form team. Throughout the whole process the student’s demonstrated considerable willingness to throw themselves into the programme and it was a great first step on their journey through the IB diploma.
New parents/students welcome
On Tuesday we invited our new families to BIS HCMC to their first information event. There was a great atmosphere with excited anticipation ahead of our first day of school. My thanks to all the current parents, students and teachers who made the event so informative and welcoming. Please find the presentation shared with parents here.
Thank you to all parents who joined us yesterday for our first coffee morning of the year. It was a great pleasure to meet familiar faces and catch up on the events of the summer as well as meeting new parents in a more social setting. I look forward to our next parent group event - watch this space.
A special thank you to the AP1 team for making the arrangements!
