The best thing about Boarding at Regents is the epic sense of community and diversity.
At first, when I came to boarding in Year 8, it was a pretty unknown and strange setting for me, I hadn’t been so far away from home or family before. Naturally, I was anxious and I had no idea whether I would “fit in” or even be able to deal with anything going on at school.
Currently, I am in Year 11 and have been in boarding for three years now. It has become my second home and family; a place I feel comfortable and safe in. One of the best things about boarding is certainly the support given by teachers and gap students, whether it is the support for academics or your general well being. You are never alone! People are always there for you, in the best and worst times.
Another one of boarding’s strong suits is the epic sense of community and diversity, there are so many different people here, with different minds, cultures, hobbies, and opinions, all living under the same roof. It makes for interesting conversations, builds up friendships and creates a sense of family. Needless to say, I am really happy to be here and don’t know who I’d be today if not for boarding.
