Buses & Club Season 3/ Sports Practices:

Please don’t forget that club season 3 ended on Thursday, 19 April and all students will be travelling home on regular 3:30 buses next week. Also, all U15 bball, U19 soccer and CISA/ ACAMIS swim practices are officially over and all participants will be going home on the regular school bus starting immediately.

Grade 4 & 5 Camping Trips:

The camping trips are coming up quickly with the Grade 4 practice night happening this past Tuesday. The Grade 5’s will be off to Andaman and the 4’s off to Dayi in the coming weeks!

ACAMIS & CISA Season 3 sports & Poetry Slam:

It was a great weekend for LIS kids, staff and the school in general.

Friday night CISA hosted the Poetry Slam and LIS was represented in full force thanks to Elaine, Michelle, Victoria, Richard and the crew for setting it all up and thanks to all those who came to cheer on the kids, I heard it was a great turnout. Please see Elaine’s email earlier for details.

Saturday we hosted the CISA U19 B & G soccer. It started out as a great day… poured rain for an hour… and ended as a great day! The teams all played hard and played well even through the downpour. Our girls finished 3rd overall and kept the much bigger teams at bay for both of their games. The boys finished a very tight 2nd losing in shoot-out, after regulation time finished 1-1 and overtime finished 1-1. Great performances all round. Our CISA teams, with their coaches Mr. Paul and Ms. Felicia, are ready for the ACAMIS tournament next weekend.

We want to send out a thank you to the students, parents, teachers and admin. who came and braved the weather to cheer on the teams. Camille, who is injured, came to cheer on her teammates and, not only that, her parents came knowing that she was not playing to cheer on her teammates… that’s dedication!

A special thanks to Mr. Darren and Mr. Scofield who jumped right in on squeegees to help the maintenance folks to clear the field of water to make it playable for the kids! Of course a great big thank you, as always, to our maintenance guys and ayi’s for the efforts to make this a successful weekend.

The ACAMIS teams leave Thursday and I’ll keep you posted of their results next week. See the FCBESCOLA poster here

CISA U15 Basketball tournament will be played next Saturday, 21 April at Meishi. This will be an all-day event. Hope to see you there.

CISA Swimming:

The CISA swim meet was held at LIS this past Tuesday, 17 April! LIS had 35 swimmers from 9 years old to U19 who will represent the school against 5 other CISA schools with a total of approximately 200 swimmers. Leman had a great showing and the Coaches, Mr. Ben and Ms. Allerie, were very happy with the kids. The final results will be out soon and we will share them as soon as we get them.
