Originally from the Republic of the Philippines, Cheena started working in Léman in 2017 and since then has been teaching music to the primary students. For the academic year of 2020-2021, Cheena is teaching music to the students from the years 2 – 6.
In 2010, Cheena graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines with a bachelor's degree of Music Education - Emphasis in Voice, and attained her professional teacher’s license the same year. Right after Cheena got her professional license she started working as a piano, voice and primary music classroom teacher in the Philippines. Since Cheena started working in Léman, she has been working with the members of LIS Primary Chorus and guiding them when there are performances outside the school such as charity and hotel events. Cheena also organizes the winter and end of the year concerts yearly for the primary. During the preparation for the concerts, Cheena teaches the students singing, dancing and playing of instruments. While doing those, she also arranges the programs and the logistics of the concerts.
Cheena is enjoying living here in Chengdu, travelling around China to discover what the country has to offer to non-natives and to see its culture. Cheena likes to eat local food like shaokao and chuan-chuan. During her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, read books and listen to music. Cheena’s favorite genre of music is alternative rock.
