Jarrett joined Léman in 2018, and he comes from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He is currently the Middle Years Coordinator (MYP) for Years 7-11. He also teaches DP History, Individuals and Societies, English Language and Literature and English Language Acquisition. Jarrett has been teaching for 14 years. Previously, he was Individuals and Societies Department Head at Suzhou Singapore International School in Suzhou, China before moving to Doha, Qatar, and then returning to China to join Léman.
Jarrett achieved a Master’s degree in Secondary Education at Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in History at the Ohio State University, and he is currently working on his Masters in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. Jarrett is an IB Workshop Leader, Site Visitor and Building Quality Curriculum (BQC) unit reviewer. He evaluates other IB school curriculums and helps support IB in the Asia Pacific region.
Since joining Léman, Jarrett has taken a passion into the Animals Asia club that helps support moon bears in China. He believes in the IB mission statement to help develop compassionate and caring learners to prepare students for the real world. Jarrett is interested in biking, swimming, walking and playing with his children outside of school. Additionally, he has also helped MUN, and likes to bike to and from school each day.
Jarrett is accompanied with his wife, Wendy, and his two children, Cheyenne and Austin. The family really enjoys Chengdu and Léman, as they feel this has been the nicest city in China they have visited or lived in. They like all the parks and bike paths to explore in the city, and certainly hot pot and Sichuan cuisine are some of the best food in the world! They look forward to more exciting experiences at both Léman and Chengdu.
