BIS Houston shortlisted for the International School Awards!

Many congratulations to our BIS Houston Visual Arts and Design Thinking team, who have been shortlisted for the Teaching and Learning Initiative for the 2021 International School Awards. They have been selected from 264 eligible applications that were received this year from international schools in 62 countries. The judges considered the range of applications to be exceptional; particularly so considering the challenges for schools throughout 2020.

Award winners will be announced during a virtual ceremony that will be streamed on Monday 18th January with a recording published on the ISC Research and ISL Magazine websites.

This award will recognise a subject-specific or whole-school initiative that has supported teaching and learning to the benefit of the students. BIS Houston will be judged on how the teaching and learning initiative goes beyond what the school would be doing as an effective international school. This could be a teaching and learning initiative relevant to COVID-19 or otherwise.

This year, due to the impact of COVID-19 on schools throughout the world, many initiatives will have been developed to respond to the crisis. As a result, the judges will be looking for initiatives that show innovation and the potential for change through adversity.

What a superb achievement!  This is absolutely fantastic and testament to the amazing things our world class teachers lead on and deliver every single day.

When you see all of the elements described for this nomination you can really see how impactful the work our world class teachers are doing in transforming the lives of young people.

Congratulations on this wonderful achievement and we look forward to the results in January.
