DCIS Students Awarded 12 Distinctions and 3 Merits for LAMDA 2023 - DCIS Students Awarded 12 Distinctions and 3 Merits for LAMDA 2023
We are thrilled to share the outstanding news regarding our recent London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examination results.
Our inaugural cohort of 15 Dover Court students from Years 8 – 13 were awarded 12 Distinctions and 3 Merits, which is a true testament to their hard work, dedication, and talent.

"Achieving a distinction for LAMDA is an accomplishment I'm proud of! I've applied the knowledge I gained from GCSE Drama in different situations. Learning about performing elements and practicing how to perform has made me a confident and effective communicator!" - Lara, Year 10 GCSE Drama student.

LAMDA is renowned worldwide as a leading drama school providing undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications, alongside rigorous examinations for all ages in Performance and Speaking in Public. These examinations range from Grades 1 – 8 and are overseen by Ofqual (the UK’s governing body for public examinations). Students who complete qualifications at the highest level (Grades 7 and 8) are also awarded UCAS points, which can assist in securing their placements at top UK universities.

Whilst the qualifications are highly regarded by a multitude of education institutions, it is also important to note that LAMDA offers more than just the opportunity to accrue certificates, as it fosters skills that transcend the performing arts. Similarly to the GCSE Drama or IB Theatre qualifications that students undertake here at DCIS, if you aspire to be an actor, a lawyer, a teacher, an engineer, or anything in between, LAMDA qualifications help young people to hone integral skills, such as communication, collaboration and creativity which are undoubtedly invaluable attributes that our learners can transfer to all aspects of life beyond the classroom.

We are so proud of our first ever LAMDA students and their outstanding LAMDA results. We cannot wait to see what amazing accomplishments the future holds for each and every one of them. We will be continuing to offer LAMDA lessons this term so watch out for further communication about how to sign up for lessons.
