SCIENCE NEWS

On May 20th all Year 8 students will be on a trip to the national Park Reserve between Devin and Devinska Nova Ves. Students will be investigating the wetlands and hillside environments as well as the geology of this area as part of the biology and chemistry curriculum for Year 8.

  • Science at Devin

Will they identify limestone or granite?  Will they spot bee-eater birds or scoop up some leeches? Will they soak up sun rays or get rain soaked? It will certainly be a day full of new experiences.
On Friday, May 15th our Year 10 students will start a three part integrated-science investigation. The year group will decide on an area of investigation and then small groups will plan experiments related to their theme.  In June students will have dedicated lessons during which they will carry out their experiments.  The groups will later practice presentation skills by sharing their findings with the whole year group. An independent panel will judge the investigations and presentations, and the most successful will be acknowledged.
