New Catering Arrangements for 2014/15
Dear Parents, I am pleased to announce that from this Monday we will be using a new catering firm to provide meals for the students and staff at Regents.
New Catering Arrangements for 2014/15 Announcement - new catering arrangements for the new academic year. Dear Parents, I am pleased to announce that from this Monday we will be using a new catering firm to provide meals for the students and staff at Regents.

The change in catering company is accompanied by a significant investment in the facilities. New kitchens have been installed in the Early Years building and Primary School, to ensure that the food is always fresh and, where appropriate, hot. The Secondary School kitchen has also been refurbished to enable improved quality and diversity of catering.

Please note that for Early Years and Primary, unless there are specific religious or medical dietary requirements, all students will be expected to partake in the school Meal Plan.

I would ask that you pay close attention to the arrangements for the new academic year:

Early Years
  • The new Meal Plan provides three lunch options per day: a western meal, Asian/Thai meal and vegetarian meal
  • The children will be asked by their teacher each morning to choose lunch from a pictorial menu. Parents wishing to choose the meal for their child should contact the classroom teacher
  • The lunch will be plated and set out on the table, ready for the children to eat. They will also be provided with bowls of salad and fresh fruit on the table. Desert will be offered on Mondays and Fridays.
  • A Healthy morning snack will be offered to all students on the Meal Plan
  • The menu will remain unchanged from week to week but will be revised each term. The menu for Term 1 can be found here.
  • The cost of the Meal Plan is THB 8850 per term. If you have not yet been invoiced for this, please contact the Finance Office.
Primary
  • The new Meal Plan provides six lunch options per day: two Western meals, two Asian/Thai meals, noodles and a vegetarian meal. The meals will be offered as a self-service buffet
  • Salad and fresh fruit will be available every day, and desert on Mondays and Fridays
  • Proteins, carbohydrates and vegetable dishes will be colour-coded to help the students choose a balanced diet.
  • The menu for Term 1 can be found here.
  • The cost of the Meal Plan is THB 8850 per term. If you have not yet been invoiced for this, please contact the Finance Office.
Secondary
  • The Secondary School lunch service will now operate as a ‘food court’, with students able to choose from one of six food stations in the canteen: two ‘live’ cooking stations (where the food is cooked before them), a noodle bar, a Western station, an Asia/Thai station, and a made-to-order sandwich and salad bar.
  • In addition, a Bei Otto delicatessen and coffee shop will operate in the outdoor café area, selling fresh sandwiches, pastries, healthy snacks, hot and cold drinks
  • All students will use their school ID card to pay for lunch. Money can be credited to the card by a cashier, who will be located in the Secondary Cafeteria before school starts, during morning break and at lunchtime. The exception is the Bei Otto deli and coffee shop, which will only accept cash
  • A digital card reader will be positioned at the top of the cafeteria stairs for students to check the amount of credit left on their cards
  • A price list for lunch can be found here
  • We recommend that students credit not less than THB1,000 to their card on the first day of term and retain a reasonable level of credit on the card thereafter.
  • Students should come prepared on the first day of term (Monday 25 August for new students and students entering Years 7 and 12; Tuesday 26 August for all other Secondary School students) to place credit on their cards. Further information on arrangements will be sent out by the Deputy Head of Secondary.
  • In the event that a student forgets his/her ID card, it will be possible to buy a temporary card from the cashier
Boarding
  • Further information on the arrangements for boarders, including breakfast and dinner options, will be sent out by the Head of Boarding.
Feedback

Over the coming weeks we welcome feedback from parents and pupils on the new catering arrangements. Contact should be made with me, the Bursar  (Kirsty.Paiboontanasin@regents-pattaya.co.th). I will be working closely with the catering company’s Catering Manager, Andy Bird, who will be based on site throughout the week.

Andy Bird's profile

Andy is a qualified chef who worked in the UK hotel and catering industry for ten years before relocating to Thailand. He brings with him over four years’ experience of international school catering, having previously been the Catering Manager at both the International School of Bangkok and Harrow Bangkok. Andy will have direct responsibility for the quality and consistency of catering, health and safety, staff training and menu selection and design.

With kind regards,
