SOCIAL PURPOSE

At Nord Anglia International School Dublin (NAIS Dublin), we embed service learning across all age groups, motivating students to enact change through outreach programmes by fundraising or volunteering for causes they truly care about. Take our Shoebox Appeal, which students enjoy organising every year in support of Team Hope, which delivers gifts to children affected by poverty.

HELPING STUDENTS GROW INTO MATURE, CONSCIOUS ADULTS

We emphasise the importance of community development programmes both in and out of school. Every project is grounded in care, respect and integrity. By enabling students to follow their own individual passions, we empower them to invent the future.

Students participate in Model UN, which inspires them to start thinking – and acting – like world changers. We encourage them to share their thoughts on society’s most pressing issues and to be unapologetically ambitious about having a positive impact on the world. And through Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS), a mandatory core subject in the DP, students collaborate and engage with their community in response to an authentic need, developing real-world skills in the process.

UNICEF SUMMIT, NEW YORK

Every year a number of our students participate in a trip to the UNICEF headquarters in New York.  Here, they report on NAIS Dublin’s progress in addressing the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals as part of Nord Anglia’s annual Global Challenge. The students enjoy workshops, seminars and debates, and may choose to take part in speaking opportunities at the UN’s High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and attend a thrilling Model UN event.

CITIZENSHIP EXPEDITION TO TANZANIA

It’s the adventure of a lifetime. On our immensely popular Citizenship Expedition, students head to Arusha in Tanzania to help build a village school while learning all about the environment and sustainable development. They nurture their independence, develop their burgeoning global mindset, and witness the importance of looking out for one’s community.

GAISCE – THE PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Unique to Ireland, the Gaisce award is a challenge to young people from the President of Ireland to dream big and embrace their potential and measure their personal development. Our students who apply for this prestigious award embrace the opportunity to push boundaries, achieve goals and enhance their sense of citizenship through personal and community challenges.
