OUR SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Spanning Years 7 to 11, our Secondary School programme builds our students’ skills and knowledge in a range of subject areas at the high standards of the English National Curriculum. We also go beyond the norm and expose our students to a range of opportunities, so they can discover their passion and create their own success story.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN SECONDARY

In Secondary School at NAIS Hong Kong, we build our students’ skills and knowledge in a range of subject areas at the high standards of the English National Curriculum. We take a broad and balanced approach to the subjects and build students’ core skills in critical thinking, reasoning, and communication.

Structured into Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), our students enhance their skills in English, mathematics, science, and several other subjects, from music to Mandarin. Once they complete their IGCSEs, our students become ready to excel in the IBDP, well preparing them for their first-choice university.

Our specialist teachers teach each subject through units. For example, our Year 7 science course covers biology, chemistry, and physics topics, such as cells, forces, and chemical reactions.

SECONDARY SUBJECTS

At the English National Curriculum’s Key Stage 3, from Years 7 to 9, our Secondary students learn from their specialist teachers in each subject. At Key Stage 4, from Years 10 to 11, they continue with subjects that they want to explore in greater depth in preparation for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), highly regarded worldwide for its academic rigour. Students study a core of mathematics, science, English, another language, and other IGCSE exams, creating combinations for their interests and passions.
