FINANCIAL AID

At North Broward Preparatory School we value socioeconomic diversity and proudly offer need-based financial assistance.

We understand that individual economic circumstances vary. We value you and your child as part of our school community, and we are committed to providing need-based financial aid.

Within the limits of available funds, NBPS seeks to provide tuition assistance to qualified students, who must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The Financial Aid Committee reviews the student’s grades, character, and disciplinary records.

The school’s policy for determining financial need is based on the principle that both parents are responsible for the support and educational expenses of their children. We consider the assets of both parents, if living, before making the award.

Both parents are expected to be gainfully employed unless there are children under the age of four years living at home. If the custodial parent has remarried, we will consider the assets of the step-parent, taking into consideration the obligations to his or her natural children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does North Broward Prep offer merit, athletic, or fine arts scholarships?

NBP offers two scholarship programs, the Academic Honors Scholarship program and the Fine Arts Scholarship program, both for entering 9th graders. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@nbps.org or by phone at 954.247.0179.

If I receive financial aid and then receive a merit based scholarship, does my financial aid package remain the same?

It may or may not. The Financial Aid committee will re-evaluate and determine your level of financial aid based on the remaining tuition balance and your family's financial profile.

If I receive financial aid and then receive the Family Empowerment Scholarship, does my financial aid package remain the same?

It may or may not. The Financial Aid committee will re-evaluate and determine your level of financial aid based on the remaining tuition balance and your family's financial profile.

When will we be notified if we have received an award?

Current families who submit a completed financial aid application along with supplemental documents by January 1 will be notified of their financial award at the time our re-enrollment contracts are sent. Applications received after January 10 will be reviewed in mid-March and a decision will be made no later than March 31. Please contact TADS directly if you are unsure of what is missing in your application, not NBP.

New families who submit a completed financial aid application along with supplemental documents by January 15 for admission will be notified with their enrollment agreement. Families who submit a financial aid application after our deadline will be notified as funds are available.

If a family declines their Financial Aid offer will their funding become available for other families?

There is no additional funding distribution after enrollment agreements have been sent out.

I received a notification that I do not qualify for Financial Aid, what does that mean?

Our team carefully reviews all financial aid applications and required documents. If you did not receive financial aid at this time, it is because the committee determined your income/assets fell outside of the NBPS parameters for offering financial aid.

Can I request a revisit of my Financial Aid award?

All financial aid decisions are final.

Is there an appeal process for Financial Aid decisions?

All financial aid decisions are final.

Will applying for Financial Aid affect my child’s chances for admission?

No. Students are admitted to NBP based on their academic ability, not their financial status. Admission decisions are made separately from financial aid decisions.

Will my child’s Financial Aid award change from year to year?

Families must apply for financial aid each year. Financial aid is recalculated each year using current financial information. If your financial situation has changed, then your financial award may change.
