THEATRE

We aim for our students to think about and go through the steps of the creative process: thinking and doing, focusing not just on the product, but the process. We create a safe environment that enables self-expression and self-discovery.

Our students develop a new appreciation for the art of theatre while making discoveries about themselves and the world in which they live.

We guide young people through their creative journey, while providing them with the tools they need to develop self-confidence and strong communication skills. They are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and decision-making processes, and to understand what it takes to become a skilled and artistic actor.

Theatre Department faculty members have extensive experience in acting, voice, directing, playwriting, stage make-up, design, stage management and musical theatre.

PREPARING YOUR CHILD FOR THE STAGE

We allow our students to develop and refine their talents beyond the school day by mounting nine full theatrical productions, various smaller productions, and by sponsoring Cappies Critics Team (our Critics and Awards Program) and numerous Thespian troupes as part of our outstanding extracurricular offerings in theatre at North Broward Prep.
