The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint a teacher of English to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

About You

You will be a teacher who is passionate about their profession and seeks continuous improvement. You will have a positive mindset and will always do your very best for students, for parents and for colleagues. You will have strong experience of the UK national curriculum; further experience of international education will be an added advantage.

You will be an excellent communicator who will work well with all members of the community. You will have a strong focus on being the best teacher you can be and will also participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life. You will be responsible for encouraging and developing further our culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success. Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will have good interpersonal skills and the ability and confidence to build strong working relationships. The flexibility and open-mindedness to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international environment are essential.

About the Role

The English Department follows the UK National Curriculum up to IGCSE and then the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The appointee will be expected to teach English at all levels so experience with both of these curricula would be a distinct advantage. He or she will also maintain a collaborative approach to supporting other English colleagues and contributing to the team as a whole. Given the international nature of our school, experience teaching students for whom English is an additional language would be beneficial. More detail about the role and requirements can be found in the accompanying job description.

About our School

The British International School Abu Dhabi is a highly successful, growing school with a committed and inspirational team of teaching professionals at its heart.  Our close-knit, supportive team is honoured to be at the centre of our community, educating over 1750 young people from more than 70 nationalities.

In addition to being highly successful in its own right, The British International School Abu Dhabi is a member of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools. With over 20 years’ experience operating international schools, Nord Anglia Education is proud to be the world’s leading premium schools organisation.  We are a fast-growing network of 43 schools across China, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America.

Each Nord Anglia Education school is unique in character and designed to meet the needs of its community. We believe that being part of our family of schools gives our students a special advantage, having a wide range of resources and support available to enhance their success. We also create unique opportunities to benefit our students and staff, such as the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and our collaborations with The Juilliard School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and King’s College London.

In return for your passion in ensuring our students experience the highest quality education, we offer a very competitive tax-free salary, accommodation, annual flight allowance, worldwide healthcare and up to two school places for your children.

We offer significant career opportunities that come with being part of a global organisation. We also provide extensive online and face-to-face professional development to ensure that our team don’t just maintain their skills and expertise, they develop at the cutting edge of educational thinking.

Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Head Teacher/Principal.
