New this term!

Autumn Term, 2017

NEW CLUBS - Autumn 2 (starts Oct. 23)

- The Girl & I: The Girl and I’s mission is to empower girls with skills for life through STEAM experiences that challenge, motivate and inspire them to drive the “I” in their individuality. Our multi-disciplinary curriculum gives girls the tools to be problem solvers, innovators and leaders of tomorrow, along with the confidence to explore their interests in a girls-only environment free of gender comparisons and biases. This session will have fun projects built around the theme of “Super Hero girls take flight".

NEW CLUBS - Autumn 2017

- Money Matters: Creative Play and Early Numeracy: It's never too early to start developing smart money skills! Brain Arts Productions specializes in financial education through creative play and drama. In this introductory program for our Nursery & Reception students, we will learn about and play with coins, learn about the value of work and money, practice shopping, and more! We'll even include information for parents and tips to continue the conversation at home.

- Fun Fitness Tumbling Club: This fun fitness class is now available for years 2-5! George's Gym uses their "learning through play" method to give kids a strong, high energy workout that they can repeat at home or anywhere!

- Competitive Chess Team: Feeling up for a challenge? Do you like to travel, make new friends, and wear cool t-shirts? Join the competitive chess team to build your skills and foster new friendships by traveling to chess tournaments together! Our competitive team is for years 3-6, but years 1-2 can also participate in Beginning Chess on Thursdays after school.

- Space Camp: Ever wondered what it would be like to be an astronaut? Join Chicago Astronomer Joe Guzman for an all-new take on exploring the cosmos and learning about space travel!

- Mixed Fiber Arts: Some of you learned to knit last year, and you can use those skills and more in Mixed Fiber Arts. Craft with looms, yarn, and pom-poms to make cool crafts, patterns, and maybe even your favorite animal!

- CrossFit for Kids: Now available on Saturdays! Visit the CrossFit SONO gym on Halsted for fun fitness games.

The only club which has the option of early re-enrollment is Taekwondo. If your student participated in this club during Summer Term 2017, you should have received an e-mail to confirm their re-enrollment. Please respond to this e-mail in order to secure your child's space in this club for Autumn Term 2017. If you do not confirm this with a system administrator, your child's spot will be released for a new student to register on August 14 (DATE CHANGED from August 11).

Morning Clubs

These clubs come in a wide variety of activities, but all are teacher-led clubs which enrich your child's experience before the school day begins. Students are to arrive dressed in the appropriate clothing for their activity, sign in at the front desk, and report directly to the club room. Back to Types of Clubs

Afternoon Clubs

The bulk of our clubs are activities available after the school day ends. Students report to clubs after classes end at 3:30pm for snack time and activities will start at 3:45pm. Students should be picked up from these clubs at 4:45pm unless otherwise noted. Back to Types of Clubs

Teacher-led Clubs

These clubs are created and led by our very own BISC-LP staff members. Our innovative teachers create a huge variety of activities based on our students' unique interests and needs. The instruction of these clubs is often offered at little to no cost.

Pick-up from these after-school activities begins at 4:45pm in
the garage pick-up area.

External providers bring very specialized knowledge and unique perspectives. Read all about our current collaborations with these talented instructors here.
