Four Houses, One Fantastic School Spirit!

Our private school's house system nurtures self-motivation, team building and friendly competition, all of which contribute to our strong school community spirit.

Following the traditional academic feature that originated in England, our house system relaunched in Fall of 2016 at British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park Campus with brand new names and fresh new colors.

The house system is in place to foster and promote a variety of personal skills for the children and also highlight school enjoyment for all of our community.  Celebrating the four streets surrounding the Lincoln Park Campus, our houses are named accordingly:

  • Dayton
  • Blackhawk
  • Halsted
  • Eastman

Throughout the whole school, from Early Years to Year 6, all children and staff will be divided into these four Houses. In addition to the sense of fun it brings to the school, it also provides valuable learning opportunities in the following areas:

  • A sense of community, camaraderie and collaboration
  • Ambition, community service and healthy competition
  • Mentorship, leadership and friendship

We are four Houses under one campus, though - together - our students demonstrate just how ambitious they can be now and later in life.
