School Day

Our school day is different for everyone, every day. At times it is serious and focused; at other times, exciting and fun. Yet it is always inspiring and ensures that our students look forward to coming to school every day.

Foundation Stage

Our Nursery and Reception (Preschool and Kindergarten) students come into school between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., and their teacher takes registration as the first activity of the day. This provides a great opportunity for talking about the exciting learning activities in the upcoming day and sharing thoughts and feelings. The Foundation Stage day consists of teacher-focused and child-initiated learning, physical development in our new, large multi-purpose indoor/outdoor learning space, specialist teacher input and also a healthy snack.

Half-day Nursery students are collected at 12:00 p.m. and full-day Nursery students have lunch and a nap if they require. Full time students can select a school lunch option or bring their own lunch. Nursery students eat together in a dedicated area of the Foundation Stage department and Reception students eat in the school cafeteria.

Children end their day with story time in their classroom and are collected at 3.30 p.m.

Key Stages 1 & 2

Students in Key Stage 1 (Years 1&2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) arrive at school between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Students may be walked to the school entry or dropped off by car in the parking garage.  Each class teacher takes their register at 8:30 a.m., and then all students engage in Values led learning for 15 minutes before their classes start. Lessons throughout the day involve core subjects such as Math and English, plus specialist classes such as languages, art and music. Students also participate in lessons incorporating Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Robotics on our new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) corridor.

Students can select a school meal option or bring their own lunch. Children eat together in the cafeteria with music playing, seated at round tables. All KS1 & KS2 students enjoy outdoor time on our roof play space and they can access a range of activities during break times. At the end of the school day children either are collected at 3:30 p.m. or can participate in after school clubs or aftercare.

Before & After School

Full time students from Nursery to Year 6 are able to join before and after school care every day of the week. Before school care starts at 7:00 a.m. and after school care ends at 6:30 p.m., both sessions are staffed with Learning Assistants and offer a range of learning activities for children. Part time nursery students can access before school care and are then escorted to their classrooms.

Morning care costs $15 per visit and after care is $10 per hour.

We also offer a broad selection of paid and teacher staffed clubs with themes ranging from Bookworms to Cheerleading and Taekwondo. Clubs are available before and after school and run every night of the week.
