Nursery

In the Flamingos we are busy exploring our new Topic of Let’s Pretend!  The children love to hear stories that include the Big Bad Wolf and have found him in a few fairy tales -  our favorite so far being The Three Little Pigs.  With our topic the students are learning to tell their own tales, often beginning with ‘Once upon a time’ and ending with ‘and they all lived happily ever after. The end!’  The students love using props to help them retell some of the stories we have learned and to add new twists to new stories.  In addition to stories we have been working hard on our counting skills and writing numbers as you can see in the picture above!

Reception

In Reception, having read the story of The Grouchy Ladybug, we explored using the clock to tell the time. We enjoyed completing 1 minute challenges to begin to understand units of time and made our own clocks and watches to set the hands to o’clock times. We have also been taking good care of our beanstalks. Just look how much they have grown! If this continues we will be able to join Jack and the Giant up in the clouds any day now where we can teach them about the life cycles of many creatures including a butterfly, frog, chicken, ladybug and even a kangaroo, which we are all now experts on!
