I join the school at a crucial time in our academic year as our Year 11 and Year 13 students head towards their mock examinations next week. This process is essential for the students' ongoing academic journey as they have the chance to experience the pressure, as well as the discipline required to perform under examination conditions. I wish them all good luck and I am confident that they will use their mock result to fully prepare for their final examinations in May.
As I write, I am reflecting on my first three days at Compass International School Doha with a strong feeling of ambition for the school. It is clear to see that there are great things happening. Our curriculum is being delivered by well qualified and committed teachers, every child is presented with amazing opportunities to broaden their horizons and the feeling of community is palpable. This weekend, we see students heading to Sri Lanka and Berlin as well as our Year 12 students travelling to Tanzania on the world class Nord Anglia Global Campus Expedition. I am absolutely amazed but I have a feeling that this could just be another normal week in the busy life of Compass International School Doha. We look forward to sharing the experiences of our travelling students in future newsletters.
I believe that relationships are at the core of any great school. With this in mind, I will be spending my time getting to know our students, teachers and, just as importantly, our parents. To help with this, I would like to invite all parents to come and meet with me and our Secondary Leadership Team at our next Parent Forum, which will start at 07.30 on Tuesday, 17 January 2017.
I look forward to meeting with you all soon as we work together to ensure Compass International School continues to provide outstanding learning opportunities for all our students.
