I came to Doha from Olsztyn, Poland with my husband who is an in-house translator at a pharmaceutical company.
I decided to join the team at CIS Doha to pursue my career as an EAL teacher and continue my professional growth. I am keen to gain an international teaching experience and to share my own experiences and best practice. .
I hold a BA certificate in teaching English as a foreign language from University of Gdańsk, Poland. I continued my studies in translation and English teaching at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, Warsaw, Poland. I also completed a Master's degree from the University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn, Poland.
Before CISD, I had been teaching at a primary school in Olsztyn, Poland, where I taught in both Key Stages 1 and 2. Setting apart my passion for teaching young children, I have extensive experience as a freelance teacher at a number of private English teaching schools. I have successfully coordinated international cooperation projects. I designed and implemented curriculum for teacher training courses. In addition, I taught English and Polish to Saudi Arabian students. I have developed local cooperation between schools and educational institutions. My role was to enhance internationalization. My accomplishments in this field were recognized on school, regional, national and international levels.
As the head of an immersion programme, I am responsible for a specialized course of learning aimed to enhance and accelerate the acquisition of the second language. I would like to help develop the EAL department by introducing a coherent EAL teaching system. My chief concern will include providing support in the development of the students by facilitating their education through cross-curricular activities.
As a teacher at CISD, I intend to apply my best knowledge, experience and dedication to support the students, to inspire and to encourage the students in their educational journey. In short, my intention is to create an intensity of language experience of the non-native speakers in a third culture. Whilst at CISD, I hope to find a challenging environment, to pursue professional development, and to further enhance my methodology skills.
Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, spending time with friends. I love reading books and watching movies. I enjoy workouts at the gym. Whilst abroad, I am curious to try local cuisine.
I believe that the best teachers have a life-long passion not only to teach, but also to learn themselves. To achieve this, I would like to develop my teaching and teacher training skills. Whether in or out of school, I am a sociable person, I have a positive and outgoing personality, and I am open to new challenges.
