Windermere Preparatory School boarding students live in one of ten luxury houses in the surrounding neighborhoods. Each of the spacious, warmly furnished houses is gender specific and is located within a 10 minute car ride from the school.
Students share their rooms with up to three other students and have access to common areas, TV rooms, quiet study spaces, on-site laundry, kitchen and recreation areas. Great pride is taken in providing a safe, nurturing boarding environment and it is consistently expressed from residential families just how much the school feels like home.
Our house parents oversee the health and wellbeing of each student within the Boarding Program.
The houses are under the care of full-time House Parents and part-time Residential Assistants who ensure the health, safety and happiness of the students. They closely monitor proper behavior, study habits, and help to create a sense of community. House Parents also work closely with parents, teachers and tutors to ensure each student is comfortable in class and feels happy and engaged at school.
Activities and Weekends
During the school week, students have a varied program that incorporates fun, rest, activities, household chores and homework. After school, students are encouraged to participate in school-sponsored athletics, fine arts programs, clubs or extracurricular activities. House Parents also coordinate trips after school to the grocery store, convenience store, bank, post office and local cafes and eateries.
