Primary School Parent Workshop: Mathematics

Mr. Rinaldi gave parents a range of questions on the Primary Curriculum, including a Year 6 Mastery question, which parents attempted to solve. Then, all of the parents took part in a 'Maths Carousel'.

Primary School Parent Workshop: Mathematics Mr. Rinaldi, Miss Vessey and Miss Cox hosted the Primary Parent Workshop on Maths.

Mr. Rinaldi gave parents a range of questions on the Primary Curriculum, including a Year 6 Mastery question, which parents attempted to solve. Then, all of the parents took part in a 'Maths Carousel'.

Mr. Rinaldi discussed the National Curriculum and outlined year group outcomes. He also discussed the assessment process with maths, how maths progresses from Year 1 - Year 6 and gave parents the opportunity to look through outcomes that their children are working on. Our maths policy can found on the school website outlining this.

Miss Vessey showcased a range of maths resources used at DCIS and gave parents the opportunity to experiment with these and see them in action.

Miss Cox showed the parents how the Collins Maths Scheme is used and what a typical lesson looks like, as well as discussing mastery and challenge.

A huge thank you to the parents for their participation and active involvement. With over 70 parents, it was a great turn out and we hope you found the workshop informative and engaging.
