Born in England, Geraldine Boland moved to Switzerland in 1989 and became a Swiss citizen in 2012. She is a native English speaker and has an excellent knowledge of French.

Her professional background is rooted in education and leadership. She has over 30 years of experience in the education field and began her career in London as a mathematics and geography teacher. Her desire to discover new cultures led her to take up a teaching position in Switzerland.

For many years, Geraldine held the position of Deputy Director in an international school, based in Lausanne. This has given her extensive experience in operations, quality assurance processes (accreditation) and various educational systems (Swiss, CIE IGCSE, A Levels, IB - PYP and IBDP).

Geraldine travelled extensively in Asia, particularly to Japan, Central America, North America, South America, and Europe to promote the school. She has also been responsible for admissions and university guidance.

Geraldine believes that all children should be provided with a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Geraldine’s passion is education of children, in the broadest sense of the word. She prides herself on getting to know each child and believes that good relationships with parents are necessary for School objectives to be achieved.

Her management style is based on the importance of good listening skills, a calm manner and teamwork.

Owner of a small chalet in the Val d'Anniviers, Geraldine enjoys skiing, hiking, cycling; reading and travelling are also among her hobbies.

More recently, she participated as a volunteer (hosting the national teams) in the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne.

Geraldine is thrilled to join the Champittet family as the new Director of the Nyon Campus and to uphold the values of the School.
