November was an exciting month for the Greengates School Mexico community. After months of anticipation, students across all sections finally met George, our new campus mascot.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the team at Reforma for their insightful article, "Greengates: la escuela más internacional de México." It was a fantastic piece that beautifully captured the essence of what makes our school so special.

On Saturday, April 5th, Greengates School proudly hosted a Special Olympics event in collaboration with Microsoft, bringing together 26 athletes with learning difficulties, Microsoft employees and their families, and a wonderful team of student volunteers.

At Greengates School’s National Programme, we champion academic activities that bridge culture and learning. A prime example is the Poetry and Rhetoric Contest, held annually between February and March, where students engage in a profound personal and intellectual journey through poetry.

This week, the PE department hosted an unforgettable event as students from Years 3 to 6 participated in the much-anticipated annual Lions Sports Day.

As students start their process of selecting IGCSEs, they embark on a pivotal stage of their education, on Friday 22nd of November I met with several Year 8 and 9 parents in the auditorium for a “Greengates Talks’ event to start the conversation about what the IGCSE options look like at Greengates.

As Educators, we are continuously striving to improve practice and one of the most effective ways that we can do this is through collaboration with others in our profession. This October, we had seven teachers visit Greengates from the British School, Rio to observe the teaching and learning in the primary school. The visit came as a result of a recommendation from our accreditation body, the International Curriculum Association (ICA), who have recognised Greengates Primary as a school of best practice.

Last week, our Performing Arts teachers, Victor Lopez (Drama) and Hadiya Morris (Music and Drama), attended a regional Americas course in Panama focused on the Juilliard K-12 Curriculum.

On the 20th of June, Greengates School was transformed into a magical world for a stunning show presented by the Drama Club and the school orchestra. This performance was a brilliant showcase of the school's burgeoning performing arts programme, driven by our partnership with Juilliard.

Between the 12th and 19th of June, I attended this year's NAE-UNICEF Summit in Houston with my school friend Dahin, an event that brought together over 100 students from all over the world!

The Performing Arts Festival was a chance for the students to take part in music, drama and dance workshops with industry standard professionals.
