Masters Programme | Nord Anglia International School Al Khor - Small Text And Image

International schools are so varied and unique. It has been really enlightening to learn about the different types and the education system as a whole, as I feel it has impacted vastly on my teaching. With a greater understanding of all the needs and priorities of stakeholders in this field, I have been able to improve my practice which has directly influenced my students. I have read a wealth of literature, both theoretical and empirical to help me develop as a practitioner. The programme, while challenging, is rewarding and giving me a wider perspective of the field of education. I’ve also really enjoyed being able to connect with other Nord Anglia Education staff members across the world, both teachers and administrators. This support network has helped me to understand the company as a whole better, with an increased understanding of the different contexts our schools are in. It has also allowed me to collaborate with others across the world, providing varied perspectives on education practice.

The Master’s Program offered through King’s College London is a great opportunity for independent further study. Currently halfway through the course, I have already noticed the way that I see international teaching changing dramatically. I have an increased appreciation of the complexity of education and hope to contribute to guiding, supporting and creating new avenues to explore in terms of; curriculum design and delivery, day-to-day teaching and learning and the vast differences, similarities, qualities and challenges that 21st century international students represent. Delving further into the intricacies shown by international students is both fascinating and professionally rewarding. International students of today are the leaders of tomorrow and I am excited to be learning about them, but also for them.
