Year 2 Football

On Monday 23rd April 10 Y2 boys travelled to the Aspire Dome to participate in the Aspire Academy 2018 Inter Schools Final. This prestigious event is held annually and all of the top school football teams from around Qatar are invited to compete. It was a fantastic experience for all students who got to see what it is like attending a high level competition with TV cameras and newspaper reporters at a fantastic facility. They were also treated to a parade from Qatar’s Military Musical Group, a show from the Civil Defense and were able to sing the National Anthem in front of a small crowd. 

The tournament was played in league style, with the boys playing all schools in their age group, followed by a Super Final of the top two teams. They played fantastically well throughout the tournament, showing great teamwork, some silky skills and scoring some fantastic goals too! They won 1, lost 1 and drew 4 of their games, including scoring 2 last minute goals to draw 2-2 against the Swiss School! 

Overall, NAISAK finished 3rd in their league just missing out on the Super Final by 1 point! Well done to all students who took part.

Year 3 and 4 Swimming Gala

On Sunday 22nd April 8 students from Year 3 and 4 took part in the QPPSSA North Swimming Gala hosted by AKIS. The event was attended by 5 schools, Doha College, Dukhan, AKIS, Compass Doha and NAISAK. It was a fantastic opportunity for the top swimmers across the 2 year groups to gain experience in a competitive gala and for many of our students, this was their very first swimming competition. This didn’t phase them however, and our swimmers competed very well against the other schools with several students finishing in the top 3. Special mention for Nina Escomel who finished 1st in the 25m breaststroke, and Isaac was 3rd in his 50m Freestyle. 

A fantastic effort from all our students, well done to all!
