Celebrating World Book Day at NAISAK!

World Book Week was a resounding success with a rich variety of exciting activities for our children to enjoy. One of the highlights of the week was the author visit for Year 1-3 children on Sunday. The children were attentive listeners as Ms. Attar captivated them with her stories and engaged them with fun activities.

The library book fair, which took place on Monday – Wednesday, was another popular event. Many children attended the fair and left with happy faces, having found their new favourite book.

Another event that stood out was the ‘Musical Story’ session with myself, who read ‘Into the Forest’ while playing the piano in the background. The combination of music and storytelling was magical (the children’s words) and they looked so captivated by the experience.

Year 4 and 5 students also had an opportunity to give back to the community by visiting FS1 & FS2 to read with them. The children enjoyed spending time with the older students, and it was a great opportunity for them to practice their reading skills.

Today, the children dressed up as their favourite word or a character from a book, showcasing some amazing costumes. This event was a fun way to encourage children to engage with books and stories!

As a bonus, I have been busy this week reading in secret places all over Al Khor and would love for the children to find these places! Every day, a new location will be posted on Class Dojo, and children are encouraged to take a picture and send it to me! I can’t wait to see the amazing pictures.

Next week, the fun doesn’t stop as we have some more exciting activities across the week.
