Global Campus Day at NAISAK | Creativity, Collaboration and Global Learning

NAISAK students from EYFS to Secondary came together for Global Campus Day, exploring creativity, filmmaking and global collaboration through an exciting challenge from Nord Anglia’s Global Campus.

The school was buzzing with ideas as students of all ages worked together to explore new ways of using Global Campus and discover how the platform can help them connect, create and find purpose within the wider Nord Anglia community.

Rather than simply learning about Global Campus, students became creators for the day, taking on a filming challenge designed to showcase the platform in fresh and imaginative ways.

What is Global Campus?

Global Campus is a digital learning community that connects students and schools across the Nord Anglia Education network. Through international challenges, competitions, collaborations and learning experiences, students can connect with peers around the world and develop perspectives that extend beyond their own classrooms.

For NAISAK, Global Campus is an important part of providing students with opportunities for global learning and international collaboration. It allows students to share ideas, learn from different cultures and experiences, and discover opportunities beyond school and the local community in Doha, Qatar.

From Ideas to the Big Screen

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of creative activities designed to turn their initial ideas into potential films.

An expert panel on filming tips and tricks gave students practical advice and inspiration, while workshops in mind mapping, avatar creation, art enrichment and storyboarding helped them develop characters, settings, storylines and visual concepts.

The day also provided a unique opportunity for cross-age collaboration. Students from EYFS, Primary and Secondary worked alongside one another, sharing their different perspectives, skills and ideas.

Younger students brought imagination and spontaneity, while older students contributed planning, storytelling and technical skills. Together, they demonstrated the value of learning collaboratively across different age groups.

“I loved working with other students and getting to be creative together," said one student, while another learned more from the expert workshop, “The filming tips were really helpful. I learned things I can use when making videos in the future.”

“My favourite part was creating the characters and then thinking about how they could become part of our story," said a younger learner. 

Creativity with a Global Purpose

By the end of the day, classrooms and shared spaces were filled with sketches, storyboards, characters and conversations about cameras, scenes and storytelling.

While the filming challenge was at the centre of the day, the experience was about much more than making a video. It encouraged students to think creatively, collaborate across age groups, and develop new skills.

Global Campus Day highlighted what makes opportunities like this so valuable for NAISAK students: the chance to take an idea, work with others and imagine where it could go next.

The cameras may have been focused on a filming challenge, but the ideas created at NAISAK have the potential to travel much further.

More than a filming challenge, Global Campus Day was an opportunity for students to create together, learn from one another and see themselves as part of a truly global community.
