U10 & U11 Girls' Football Tournament

The U11’s Girls' Football team travelled to ISLQ this week to participate in a football tournament. Despite the wet and cold weather, the team performed fantastically. After working really hard on positions and teamwork during ECA time, the girls were unbeaten in their 3 games against QIS, RGS and Dukhan. Unfortunately, the tournament was postponed with one game to go in the group stages, due to the weather. We will continue working on our gameplay, ready for the rescheduled event where we will meet the hosts ISLQ.

U8 & U9 Boys' Football Tournament

After a long journey to Dukhan English School, the Year 3 & Year 4 boys were excited to take part in this year's U8 & U9 QPPSSA Football tournament.

The Year 3 team showed fabulous progress as the tournament developed after a very nervous start against Dukhan, in which they lost 2-0. In the second game against QFIS, the boys' energy increased tenfold with some strong defence on display. Against a very strong team, the boys were unlucky to come away with a 1-0 loss.

They took this enthusiasm into their next game against Qatar International School with some strong defence on display once again. In addition to this, the ball distribution and movement was much stronger, which created more goal-scoring opportunities. The boys came away with 1-0 victory.

The fourth game came straight after the previous game, with very little rest opportunity for the boys. Although they battled hard once again, the fatigue started to kick in towards the end of the game, which saw Compass MK come away with a breakaway goal to take the victory 1-0.

The final game against Qatar Academy was the boys' best performance of the day. The boys put into action all the things that we said we had to work on from the previous game. They created multiple goal-scoring opportunities and took their chances well, winning the game 2-0.

The Year 4 football also team travelled to Dukhan yesterday to participate in a QPPSSA tournament. From amazing saves to hitting the crossbar in the final minute, it was a fantastic trip and the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I was extremely proud of the boys who represented our school. They showed all of the High Five! values throughout, and congratulated the other teams on their victories, as well as working hard and celebrating as a team.

U13/U14 Netball vs Doha College

The U13 and U14 Netball teams travelled to Doha College for their first fixture of the season. The U13 girls came away with a 4-4 draw, an impressive start to their season.  The U14 girls started their first game of the season with an outstanding victory against a strong Doha College side. The girls worked hard until the very last whistle, with the score ending at 12-11. A fantastic start for our U13 and U14 Netball girls.
