At NAISAK we encourage students to learn foreign languages as well as to continue learning their mother tongue. To speak a foreign language allows one to become more familiarised with the culture associated with it, thus developing global understanding and appreciation, as well as cognitive and life skills.
At NAISAK, we see huge benefit to accessing a child's sense of creativity and one of the ways we do this is through our Arts Programme. The school offers both Visual and Expressive Arts lessons to all students throughout the year, thereby, giving them a chance to learn skills and crafts that will develop self-confidence and allow them to express their individuality and talents. Music lessons expose students to a variety of musical instruments and musical genres that may encourage your child to pursue learning an instrument after school, joining the school orchestra or choir.
Sports and Community
All students engage in two hours of Physical Education (PE) per week. During these sessions students are coached by specialised PE teachers to develop coordination, physical control, ball skills as well as general fitness. The school has a partnership with the Al Khor Sports Club, using its extensive facilities to offer our students the very best sporting opportunities. Extra-curricular sports offer students a variety of sports to participate in on both a friendly or competitive level. Fixtures against other schools take place each term. Qatar Aspire Academy have links with the school developing students skills and sporting talents and Doha Golf Club support the school in offering our students the opportunity to learn to play golf.
At NAISAK, we offer students the choice of learning either French, Arabic or Hindi as a second language. These lessons are taught during curricular school hours and by specialist teachers, native of the language they teach. Language lessons are interactive and stimulating and the strong experience of the teachers allows for wide differentiation. This ensures that different levels of knowledge and skills are catered for and all students are challenged to reach the highest level of second language proficiency.
In addition to this, students can learn another language in one of the extra-curricular language clubs on offer after school. These clubs encourage students to embrace the benefits of multiculturalism and multilingualism, as does the Rosetta Stone programme that all students have on-line access to both in school and at home.
Arabic students are invited to continue their mother tongue learning through the Qatar National Curriculum offer made by the school to both Qatari and other Arab students. Students who speak English as a second language are offered support through Intensive English Classes that run alongside the British National Curriculum programmes for literacy and English.
All of our specialist subjects are offered as a part of our extensive Extra Curricular Activities programme after school.
