    Tracey Phillips

    Foundation Stage Leader/Foundation 2 Teacher

    Tracey Phillips

Hi, I’m Tracey Phillips, I recently celebrated a milestone birthday! I lived in London as a child, through my studies and when I first started teaching, but I have been living in Cambridgeshire for the past 15 years. I am a real dog lover though mine, two gorgeous Chihuahuas, unfortunately cannot come with me, the flight is too long! I have always had dogs, they are great for exercise and for relaxing with too. I am one of four children, my big sister and brother live near my parents in Cambridgeshire but I also have a sister living in Australia, I visit her whenever I can.

    Lesley-Anne Newnham

After leaving school I studied Fine Arts and upon completing my studies in South Africa I went on to start my own art school called KreativKidz for children from the ages of 4 to 18 years old.

I left South Africa in 2004 and started working in a private school in the United Kingdom. I took on the role as Art Specialist and soon I was made head of the art department. I started KreativKidz again and soon the Art School was working with over 50 children from the ages of 4 to 18 years old.  I worked in the Foundation Stage alongside being the art specialist developing creative skills in young children and working towards enabling a creative environment for young children to learn in.

    F1 Teacher

    Amali Pathirana

I studied in both Dubai and England, graduating with a BSc. I have been working as a music teacher at NAISAK for the last two academic years. I’ve achieved grades 1-8 in Piano, taking both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams. I have taken part in the Young Musician of The Gulf competition as well as completing a jazz piano solo certificate. Having taken my first piano lesson at the age of 5, I have been in love with music ever since.

Throughout my childhood I have been a part of many jazz bands, orchestras and choirs and I have been involved in piano tutoring for 6 years and enjoy teaching beginners, watching them grow into passionate musicians.

    Helen Lewis

    F2 Teacher

    Helen Lewis

My name is Helen Lewis and I have been living in Doha for almost three years with my husband. Qatar has given us amazing opportunities, we love the culture and the lifestyle here. I come from a small town in the UK called Swansea which has many beautiful beaches. It is often raining in Wales where Swansea is located, so I particularly enjoy living in the sunshine and making the most of the warmer climate.

    Atlanta Hearns

I graduated from The University of Aberdeen in 2017 and I have just completed my probationary year teaching a Year 5 class. I am enthusiastic and dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment. I continually embrace new experiences to develop my skills in pedagogy. I have experience teaching in both inner city and rural schools, therefore can adapt my teaching approach to satisfy the needs of diverse groups of children.

I am looking forward to joining the Early Years team and working closely with all my new colleagues at NAISAK to contribute to the continued growth and success of the school. As a teacher I set high standards for the children in my care and I work hard to help them achieve their goals and maximise their potential. I hope to quickly form good relationships with parents so we can work together in partnership to support their child in their education and development.

    Simona Scragg

    Foundation Stage PPA Teacher

    Simona Scragg

I am from Pitești in Romania and am currently an English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher and EAL Coordinator for Primary for an International School in The Netherlands. I have Qualified Teacher Status from England, taught in Key Stages one, two and three and am experienced in teaching the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum. I am in my ninth year of teaching and have previously been a classroom teacher in a Dutch International Primary School and private schools in Romania. My specialisms are EAL, Modern Foreign Languages and Art. In addition to this, I have a specialism in Arabic. I am a Polyglot. I speak English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian and Romanian. Additionally, I am very passionate about teaching Art. I have led successful Art and Science after school clubs. I enjoy the opportunity to build relationships with children of different ages and benefit from seeing children from my classes in a new environment.

I decided to teach at NAISAK because of the outstanding education on offer and because the school is in an Arabic speaking country. Along with working in a school that offers excellent education, finding an international school that offers our daughter a first-rate education was very important for us too. With English being widely spoken in Qatar and being able to speak Arabic, I felt that as a family we would be able to ‘hit the ground running’, settling into our new working and living environment quickly, thus enabling us to focus on outstanding teaching instantly. In addition to the superb quality of living and safety and security it allows us to raise our daughter in, Qatar also offered me the ability to further my knowledge of and immerse myself in the Arabic culture I learnt so much about at University. Furthermore, with a strong desire to commit to NAISAK for some years, we look forward to the World Cup 2022 and all that it will offer the children and staff of the school.

My career in education began when I joined Pride Kids Academic Pre-school in South Africa as a Teaching Assistant in 2008. After working at the Pre-school, I decided to further my career in teaching, and began a four-year Bachelor Degree in Education (BeD, Foundation Phase), which I completed through the University of South Africa in 2013.
