    Tracey Phillips

    Foundation Stage Leader/Foundation 2 Teacher

    Tracey Phillips

Hi, I’m Tracey Phillips, I lived in London as a child, through my studies and when I first started teaching and moved to Cambridgeshire in 2002, however, I have been living and working in Qatar since August 2017. I am a real dog lover having grown up with Labradors and more recently had two gorgeous Chihuahuas whilst living in England. I have always had dogs, they are great for exercise, for relaxing with and just good company. I am one of four children, my older sister and younger brother live near my parents in Cambridgeshire but I also have a sister living in Australia, I visit her whenever I can.

    Amali Pathirana

I studied in both Dubai and England, graduating with a BSc and then getting my PGCEi through Nottingham University. I have been working as a Foundation teacher for 3 years at NAISAK. My first ever teaching post was at this very school as a primary music teacher, I am amazed by how much the school has grown since I joined in 2014!

Teaching students with such a vast mix of different cultures and backgrounds appealed to me when I first joined NAISAK. The strong community within the school made me feel comfortable and welcome and I’m proud to be part of the NAISAK family.

    Kathleen Lyons

Hello, I’m Kathleen and I’ve been working at NAISAK since 2016. I am proud to be part of the Nord Anglia family and feel they have always supported me in my role, helping me complete my NQT and providing a rich variety of professional development opportunities. I started out at NAISAK teaching year 4 which was an incredible opportunity but completely out of my comfort zone as an Early Years practitioner! I learned a lot and loved the challenge, but I am pleased to be back in Foundation working with the little ones. I’ve loved each of my classes during my time here and I always find the time to pop in and see my old students – it’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown!

    Ashleigh Roberts

    F2 Teacher

    Ashleigh Roberts

My name is Ashleigh Roberts and I come from a large city in England called Liverpool. I have been teaching here at Nord Anglia International School, Al Khor since January 2015. I studied for my degree in English Literature with Electronic Creative Technology in the city of Liverpool. I graduated with a 2:1 and decided to pursue my career as a Primary School Teacher. In 2012, I graduated Liverpool Hope University with QTS in Primary School Teaching. After my degree, I took a career break and worked in a bank. Working for the bank did not provide me with a challenging work environment and so I went to work for Liverpool City Council as a Supply Teacher. This gave me the opportunity to visit many different classrooms and teach a variety of different children. During my supply work, I discovered that teaching is truly the career for me as I enjoy helping children learn.

    F2 Teacher

    Laura Snape

I am from a small village in Derbyshire and I graduated in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS from Bishop Grosseteste University College in Lincoln. I have been teaching since then in two different Primary Schools, specialising in Early Years.

In my spare time I like to walk my two dogs, spend time with my family – especially my 18 year old daughter, socialising with my friends, going to the cinema, reading and keeping fit by going to the gym.

I am really excited about moving to Qatar as it has always been my dream to teach abroad. I am looking forward to gaining new experiences and having the opportunity to explore and learn.

My career in education began when I joined Pride Kids Academic Pre-school in South Africa as a Teaching Assistant in 2008. After working at the Pre-school, I decided to further my career in teaching, and began a four-year Bachelor Degree in Education (BeD, Foundation Phase), which I completed through the University of South Africa in 2013.
