FS1 Teacher

Hello, I’m Kathleen and I’ve been working at NAISAK since 2016. I am proud to be part of the Nord Anglia family and feel they have always supported me in my role, helping me complete my NQT and providing a rich variety of professional development opportunities. I started out at NAISAK teaching year 4 which was an incredible opportunity but completely out of my comfort zone as an Early Years practitioner! I learned a lot and loved the challenge, but I am pleased to be back in Foundation working with the little ones. I’ve loved each of my classes during my time here and I always find the time to pop in and see my old students – it’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown!

Before starting at NAISAK I worked in Abu Dhabi as a year 2 teacher. It was my first teaching job and an incredible introduction to international teaching. I chose to move to Qatar to be at NAISAK as I couldn’t pass up the chance to become part of this wonderfully supportive global community! During my time here I have watched the school grow and I am proud to be part of its transformation, particularly in the Foundation Stage. All the staff, children and parents have worked incredibly hard to make our school a great place to work and learn. I wake up each morning excited to come to work and I couldn’t ask for more than that. I am confident that our school is going to continue to grow and provide an outstanding education for all of its students.

When I am not at school I like to relax through reading - to this day my favourite books are the Harry Potter series! I also like to keep fit through yoga, exercise classes and running. During the school holidays, I love to travel and have been lucky enough to travel across Europe, visit several places in America and explore Thailand. Whilst being here, I have also challenged myself to participate in new activities and have since been kayaking, white water rafting, snowboarding and camping! I hope to continue travelling and exploring whilst I am working here in Qatar.

I am very much looking forward to another exciting and challenging year here at NAISAK, and I am eager to make a positive impact on the lives of the children and adults I work with as well as develop my own teaching.
