My name is Rebecca Matues and I am 29 years old. I graduated in 2019 with a BA Hons degree in Primary Education from Northumbria University. During my degree I specialised in mathematics due to my enthusiasm for problem solving. I completed my training in a wide range of school settings, which gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge as a teacher. Prior to my degree, I completed a BTEC in advanced performance, and performing arts continues to be an interest of mine. Since graduating, I have worked in a primary school in Buckinghamshire as a year 3 class teacher.
I am very excited to be joining the Nord Anglia Education family and to begin my career teaching in an international setting. I previously travelled to Qatar and visited NAISAK after a close friend, who worked at NAISAK, invited me to visit in 2016. I adored my visit and I knew that after obtaining my degree and NQT year, it was my aim to return. The school shares my own values and ambitions, and I am thrilled to finally be returning after many years of dreaming of joining the NAISAK team.
I look forward to teaching and working in year 3 at NAISAK. As a teacher I set high standards for the children in my care, and I work hard to help them achieve their goals and maximise their potential.
My hobbies include going to the gym and eating out. I love travelling and exploring the world and look forward to many more opportunities to do this while living in Qatar.
