    Laura Battson

Year 1 Teacher, Head of Primary Maths

    Laura Battson

My name is Laura Battson and I am looking forward to joining the Year 1 team and sharing my expertise and passion for teaching among my new colleagues at NAISAK. I completed my undergraduate degree at Roehampton University in 2013 and went on to teach Reception and Year 1 in the South West of the U.K. for four years. My drive to try new things and experience a new culture was ignited through my experience of teaching in an international school in Bangkok; where I taught Year 1 for two years. Teaching internationally enabled me to embrace a new culture and language and having this experience has given me the skills and knowledge to be a great member of the NAISAK community.

    Sumayya Abdul-Cader

    Year 2 Teacher

    Sumayya Abdul-Cader

My name is Sumayya Abdul-Cader, and I am looking forward to joining the Year Two team this year. I completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Health at the University of Roehampton in London. Upon completing my degree, I went on to work within a Special Educational Needs School where I gained my first taste of teaching. I spent four years in the Special Educational Needs School before deciding it was time to make a move and face a new challenge. I decided to further my career by joining a highly reputable mainstream school based in Kings Cross, which is recognised amongst the top 1% of Primary schools in the UK for attainment.

    Harry Fleming

    Year 2 Teacher

    Harry Fleming

Hi there, my name is Harry Fleming and I am from the Lake District, England. I studied at Leeds Beckett University for my undergraduate degree in English Literature, before moving to University College Birmingham to complete my PGCE in Primary Education. Before completing my PGCE, I had volunteered in a Year 5 and 6 class, as well as being a tutor for students trying to obtain a GCSE in English. After completion of the PGCE, I received a job at a school in Smethwick, Birmingham, where I had completed a previous placement. I have since been there for two and a half years, where I was not only a class teacher, but a subject leader in physical education.

    Nigel Lane

Head of Year 5, Head of Primary ICT

    Nigel Lane

I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from St. Patrick’s College of Education in Dublin, Ireland in 2007. I then took up a position as a teacher at a wonderful school near my hometown of Newbridge. Throughout my nine years there I gained experience of multiple year groups as well as special education. I also worked as the whole-school ICT Co-ordinator for a number of years. From 2013-2015 I studied part-time in order to gain an MSc. in Education and Training Management from Dublin City University. It was challenging at times to work full time and keep up with my studies, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it made me a more thoughtful and reflective educator.

    Atlanta Hearns

    Year 3 Teacher

    Atlanta Hearns

I graduated from The University of Aberdeen in 2017 and I have just completed my probationary year teaching a Year 5 class. I am enthusiastic and dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment. I continually embrace new experiences to develop my skills in pedagogy. I have experience teaching in both inner city and rural schools, therefore can adapt my teaching approach to satisfy the needs of diverse groups of children.

I am looking forward to joining the Early Years team and working closely with all my new colleagues at NAISAK to contribute to the continued growth and success of the school. As a teacher I set high standards for the children in my care and I work hard to help them achieve their goals and maximise their potential. I hope to quickly form good relationships with parents so we can work together in partnership to support their child in their education and development.
