I am the English Coordinator for Key Stage One and a Year 2 Classroom Teacher. I am originally from Sheffield in England which is where I trained to be a teacher. I am in my twelfth year of teaching and my specialisms are English and Music. Before teaching in Qatar, I was the English Coordinator and a Classroom Teacher for four years in an International School in The Netherlands. Before teaching in Holland, I was a teacher at the British School of Bucharest in Romania and prior to this at several public and private schools in England. I have experienced teaching in all year groups from 1 to 6. I have worked outside of education, followed my dream to ‘make it’ as a musician and worked as a Paralegal in one of the UK’s finest Human Rights legal departments.

    Dianne Seyffert

I am from Durban, a coastal city in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. I completed my schooling in Durban and then moved to Johannesburg to do my teacher’s training at Johannesburg College of Education. I qualified in 1993 and started my journey as an educator immediately after that. I have taught all year groups throughout the primary years and find it very difficult to pick a favourite year group.

    Nigel Lane

    Year 3 Teacher

    Nigel Lane

I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from St. Patrick’s College of Education in Dublin, Ireland in 2007. I then took up a position as a teacher at a wonderful school near my hometown of Newbridge. Throughout my nine years there I gained experience of multiple year groups as well as special education. I also worked as the whole-school ICT Co-ordinator for a number of years. From 2013-2015 I studied part-time in order to gain an MSc. in Education and Training Management from Dublin City University. It was challenging at times to work full time and keep up with my studies, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it made me a more thoughtful and reflective educator.

    Atlanta Hearns

    Year 3 Teacher

    Atlanta Hearns

I graduated from The University of Aberdeen in 2017 and I have just completed my probationary year teaching a Year 5 class. I am enthusiastic and dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment. I continually embrace new experiences to develop my skills in pedagogy. I have experience teaching in both inner city and rural schools, therefore can adapt my teaching approach to satisfy the needs of diverse groups of children.

I am looking forward to joining the Early Years team and working closely with all my new colleagues at NAISAK to contribute to the continued growth and success of the school. As a teacher I set high standards for the children in my care and I work hard to help them achieve their goals and maximise their potential. I hope to quickly form good relationships with parents so we can work together in partnership to support their child in their education and development.

    Niki Jefferson

    Year 4 Teacher

    Niki Jefferson

Hi, my name is Niki Jefferson and this is my second year living and working in Qatar. I am the Year 4 leader and was fortunate to have had an amazing class last year. This made the transition from the UK so much easier for me, as I looked forward to coming to school every day. I’m hoping that my current year 4 class will be equally as wonderful – good signs so far! I’m from Brighton in the UK and taught there for five years. Prior to this, I taught in an International School in Mexico City and have also taught in Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam and Cairo, Egypt. Teaching internationally has provided me with a wonderfully rich and diverse life in terms of travel. I have visited some amazing countries and met some incredible children along the way. Prior to working overseas I lived and taught in London for more than ten years and have a great love for my capital city.

I have taught in all year groups across Key stage 1 and 2 from Year 1 up to Year 6.  I particularly enjoy teaching in Year 4 or 5.  I have held a number of senior leadership positions including Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 coordinator.  I have led subject specialisms within schools including literacy and numeracy.  I am currently part of the SLT in my school and seek to continually improve the educational experience for all children.  I am responsible for the behaviour and progress of children in Year 4 and for Science across the whole school.
