Joy Marie Bromfield

Head of Year 1

I have spent almost 10 years as a primary school teacher and during this time have held several positions of increasing responsibility; Nursery Room Leader, Crèche Supervisor, Subject Coordinator, and NQT Mentor, culminating in my current position of Year Leader of a twelve-form entry school.

I have decided to return to the classroom to ensure that I remain up to date with current teaching practices and initiatives. I have also missed having the opportunity to work closely with and have a direct impact upon the holistic development of the children in my care.

I am delighted to be given the opportunity to do so at NAISAK and to become a part of the world-renowned Nord Anglia family.

I am looking forward to joining the Year 1 team and working closely with my new colleagues, to contribute to the vision, aims and success of the school. As an outstanding practitioner, I have high expectations for the children in my care and I aim to provide them with engaging, interactive and appropriately challenging learning experiences. In order for them to develop positive learning behaviours, it is important that our classroom environment reflects their beliefs, backgrounds and individual personalities, whilst remaining culturally sensitive. I truly believe that children who learn in a happy, safe and welcoming environment, thrive and are able to reach their full potential. I hope to quickly form good relationships with parents so that we can work in partnership to support your child in their academic and social development.

In my spare time, I love to travel to new and interesting places to explore and discover new foods and learn new things. I also enjoy visiting museums, galleries and singing. I am currently learning to play the guitar, which has been very challenging so far, but I am reminding myself to never give up, as I often say to the children in my class. My favourite animals are elephants and giraffes. When I travelled to Sri Lanka and Nepal, I was super excited to see the elephants in their natural habitats.

This school will be different from all the others that I have taught at as I believe that Nord Anglia is a unique community with many different opportunities to develop and grow as a practitioner. I am excited to work collaboratively with the Nord Anglia team and families and enjoying all the fantastic opportunities Qatar has to offer.
